Indonesia has officially joined BRICS as a full member, announced by Brazil’s government on Monday. The group now includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and Indonesia. Indonesia's foreign ministry welcomed the news, calling BRICS membership a strategic way to enhance cooperation with other developing nations. As the fourth most populous country in the world, Indonesia has long expressed interest in joining BRICS to strengthen ties among emerging nations and support the goals of the Global South.
