Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched water purification projects to clean drains flowing into the Rapti river. He praised the Municipal Corporation for its efforts in maintaining the river’s cleanliness. Adityanath highlighted the historical importance of clean water for people in eastern Uttar Pradesh, recalling the loss of over 50,000 children between 1970 and 2007 due to contaminated water. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Modi's Clean Bharat Mission and other initiatives like the Amrit and Jal Jeevan Missions for improving water quality.
