Head coach Crispin Chettri urged fans to support the Indian women's team as they face world No. 27 Russia in an unofficial international at Salt Lake Stadium, marking their first match there since winning the SAFF Championship. He emphasized playing higher-ranked sides helps development, exposes youngsters to international football, and aids squad building for the 2029 AFC Women's Asian Cup.
