Indian tourists may soon visit Russia without a visa, with the initiative likely to start by spring 2025. Both countries discussed a bilateral agreement to enable visa-free group tourist exchanges earlier this year. Since August 2023, Indian travelers have also been eligible for e-visas, processed within four days. In 2023, India ranked among the top five countries for e-visas to Russia, with 9,500 visas issued, making up 6% of the total. This move aims to boost tourism between the two nations.
