Gujarat's heritage sites attracted over 21 lakh tourists in 2023-24, according to the Gujarat Tourism Department. To improve these sites, the state government has invested over Rs 428 crore in development projects. As part of World Heritage Week (November 19-25), UNESCO emphasizes preserving cultural heritage, with India celebrating the theme “Discover and Experience Diversity.” Under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat has focused on enhancing sites like Vadnagar and Dholavira, with Vadnagar seeing a nearly threefold increase in visitors, from 2.4 lakh to 7 lakh.
