Cowpea Seeds Germinate in Space for the First Time at ISRO's Space Lab

In a first for ISRO, cowpea seeds have sprouted in space after just four days. This experiment, part of the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) mission, was conducted aboard the PS4-Orbital Experiment Module (POEM-4) launched on December 30 from Sriharikota. The experiment, named CROPS (Compact Research module for Orbital Plant Studies) by VSSC (Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre), successfully grew the seeds in microgravity conditions. ISRO shared this achievement, noting that leaves are expected to appear soon.
