On January 1, the Union Cabinet approved the continuation of two programs: PM Fasal Bima Yojana and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme. The total budget for these programs is Rs 69,515.71 crore from 2021-22 to 2025-26. The Cabinet stated that this will help protect farmers' crops from natural disasters that cannot be prevented, until 2025-26.
