President Droupadi Murmu has accepted Union Minister of State L Murugan's resignation, prompting speculation of an imminent cabinet reshuffle. Murugan resigned from Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs to return to Tamil Nadu and strengthen the BJP's grassroots ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, and sought to relinquish his Rajya Sabha seat, Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
