Tamil Nadu hurdler Vithya Ramraj has been awarded ₹30 lakh by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay after winning bronze in the women’s 400m hurdles at the 2026 Asian Games. Vithya clocked 54.75 seconds to break PT Usha’s 42-year-old national record of 55.42 seconds. The Coimbatore athlete also improved her personal best and secured her second medal at these Games.
