Nasscom says Indian IT companies have reduced reliance on H-1B visas, expanded US local hiring, and built domestic workforces, while PERM-linked green card transitions remain limited. The US Department of Labor has temporarily barred major firms from filing new or processing pending PERM applications amid broader scrutiny of employment-based immigration affecting Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCLTech and others.
