MyHeritage genealogical research found Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe are ninth cousins once removed, tracing both actresses through their fathers to early Sandwich, Massachusetts settler Ezra Perry from the 1600s. The distant kinship followed renewed comparisons after Sweeney's Marilyn-esque appearance at the 2026 Santa Barbara Film Festival. The study also links Dakota Johnson as Monroe's ninth cousin, three times removed.
