In 2016, singer Sonu Nigam disguised himself as an elderly street performer in Mumbai for 'The Roadside Ustaad' project with Being Indian. Over three hours at three locations he sang about 25 songs without a microphone, earning just ₹12 from a young listener whose kindness moved him. The experiment explored public reactions and taught him humility and the enduring power of music.
