Sonali Bendre recalled welcoming Michael Jackson during his 1996 Mumbai visit, saying she was initially more excited to wear a traditional Maharashtrian nauvari saree than to meet him. Speaking on Sony Marathi's Kon Honar Crorepati with Madhuri Dixit, she said the live concert later revealed Jackson’s artistry and converted her into a fan.
