The aviation department has asked the Sagar collector to identify suitable land for a new airport, after concluding Dhana airstrip cannot be expanded due to surrounding hilly terrain. Authorities plan an airport between Sagar and Bina to support Bina’s emerging refinery and petrochemical hub, requiring about 200 acres. Separately, Shivpuri administration has identified an alternative site for a proposed airport pending an aviation survey.
