The Reserve Bank of India raised the policy repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50 percent, shifting its stance to 'calibrated tightening' and signaling further hikes may follow. The move, prompted by broadening inflation, rising crude and global rates, will push up borrowing costs and EMIs. RBI also raised FY27 growth to 7.1% and inflation forecast to 5.2%.
