After the main accused in anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota’s murder was arrested in a Punjab, Rajasthan operation, Jhota’s father Bhim Singh called a Punjab bandh for October 15 demanding a CBI probe and resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav. Protests, BJP support, property demolition and clashes followed, with calls for impartial investigation and strict action.
