A month before the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the city for three hours on Friday to launch and inaugurate projects worth ₹7,000 crore. During his visit, he will perform puja at the Sangam along with representatives of 13 Akharas and key temples.
Most of the projects focus on road and corridor development, including Shringverpur Dham, a site mentioned in the Ramayana as the kingdom of Nishadraj, the king of fishermen. It is believed to be the location where Lord Ram crossed the Ganga River.
