Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of the Indian diaspora in India's development and called for their active participation at the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas' in Bhubaneshwar next year to achieve the goal of 'Viksit Bharat'. Speaking to the Indian community at the 'Hala Modi' event in Kuwait, he mentioned the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, announced at the G-20 summit last year, and said it would provide a new direction for the world.
