Twenty-one-year-old student Surendra Singh Chaudhary, known as 'Bittu Tabahi', went viral after single-handedly cleaning the polluted Ajnar River in Biaora starting January 26. His solo effort, undertaken with basic tools and facing health risks, prompted the municipal corporation to deploy JCB and Poclain excavators and propose a Rs 14.77 crore sewage treatment plant to stop wastewater from five drains entering the river.
