Vulture populations in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra valley have rebounded over two decades, with nests rising from 26 in 2004-05 to 617 in 2024-25 and fledglings from 23 to 559. Annual surveys and conservation measures, including a ban on veterinary diclofenac, promotion of meloxicam, habitat protection and community-led carcass management, have sustained this recovery.
