Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held the fourth pre-budget meeting in New Delhi with stakeholders from the export, trade, and industry sectors to gather input for the Union Budget 2025-26. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, the Finance Secretary, and other officials. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met economists to discuss strategies for the upcoming Budget. On December 20, Sitharaman also attended a state-level pre-budget meeting in Jaisalmer with state finance ministers and chief ministers.
