Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Ladakh’s sporting strengths in ice hockey, winter sports and mountaineering while inaugurating projects worth about Rs 3,350 crore. He announced new sports policies, a Centre of Excellence in Leh, IIT Jammu and IIM Jammu satellite campuses, and major infrastructure upgrades including the Nimmu Padum Darcha road, Sanok hydro project, and an expanded Leh airport terminal.
