Indian Railways has issued strict new safety directions to switch off mobile charging points inside train coaches between eleven PM and five AM daily. The Railway Board instructed all zonal networks to enforce this rule without exception following an incident involving a passenger power bank. Onboard staff will manage switches and conduct regular surprise inspections to ensure total passenger safety during overnight journeys.
