Musicians from Kerala’s tribal communities are gaining professional recognition as awareness of copyright and royalties grows. Workshops, festivals, and a national songwriting programme helped artists learn songwriting, recording, and monetisation, while independent platforms allow performance opportunities. Participants from Paniya, Kattunaika and other communities attended a Kolkata camp organised by IPRS with Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and will receive free IPRS enrolment and authorship rights.
