Air India is seeking about $1.5 billion in fresh equity from Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines to stabilize cash flow, fund fleet upgrades, lease payments and merger integration costs, and support its multi-year transformation. The infusion would be split by shareholding, roughly $1.125 billion from Tata and $375 million from Singapore Airlines to shore up operations and return the carrier to profitability.
