Anthropic said new safeguards to prevent rivals copying Claude reduced data harvested in distillation attacks by roughly 90% to 99%, and made reasoning-token extraction 10 to 100 times lower than before. The California-headquartered company restricted access to Claude's protected reasoning, blocked proxy probing, banned tens of thousands of accounts, and cited Z.ai’s attempted distillation.
