Actress Shilpa Shetty donated a life-size mechanical elephant called Veerabhadra to Shri Jagadguru Renukacharya Temple in Karnataka, celebrating the centenary birth ceremony of Shrimad Rambhapuri Veerarudramuni Jagadguru. Karnataka Minister Eshwar B Khandre praised the temple’s decision not to own or hire live elephants, emphasizing that technology allows temples to have elephants without keeping them in captivity. He also mentioned that, under the Wildlife Protection Act, elephants cannot be donated to other temples.
