Four volunteers completed a year living inside a 1,700-square-foot simulated Mars habitat at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston to study long-duration mission challenges. As part of a 378-day mission they grew food, managed limited supplies, performed simulated extravehicular activities, and experienced delayed communications. NASA will analyse health and performance data to improve systems for future Mars and Moon missions.
