India's National Highways Authority (NHAI) is deploying an internal AI assistant, 'Marg Sarthi', built with open-source tools to preserve institutional knowledge and help officials access policies, contracts and project reports. The system provides auditable answers, role-based access, reusable workflows, and specialised tools, reducing knowledge loss from officer transfers and improving administrative and technical decision-making.
