Moving from Mansfield Woodhouse to affluent Ravenshead intensified insecurity, leading me to substance use and later steroids as attempts at confidence. Those coping strategies worsened my condition. Recovery taught me belonging comes from connection, acceptance, and support rather than status, appearance, or performance.
