Yamaha's Otonomori initiative is restoring forests used for instrument woods, focusing on conserving and cultivating Indian rosewood through trials in Karnataka. Since 2025 the programme has established three one-hectare trial sites, raised about 3,000 seedlings and planted roughly 450 in August 2026. It tests enrichment planting, wood-use technologies, and community-linked models to secure supply and livelihoods.
