Mittali Sethi, district collector of Nandurbar, enrolled her three-year-old twins in a local government Anganwadi because she trusted the women running it. She praised an Anganwadi worker who improvised a comfortable cloth sling with a tailor to stop children from crying. Sethi said the experience convinced her of the centre’s value, of the lessons workers teach, and that using public services improves accountability.
