Who Knew Wasteland Could Feed A School? Bhaderwah’s Green Experiment

A government school in Bhaderwah has transformed a neglected patch of land into a kitchen garden that now supplies fresh vegetables for students’ mid-day meals. Run by an eco-club of teachers and students, the garden grows brinjal, beans, tomatoes, chillies and other vegetables without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, while also giving students hands-on lessons in farming, nutrition and environmental conservation.
