WhatsApp is developing a dedicated Contacts tab for Android to centralize contacts, show online status, birthday reminders, and contact options. The tab may include a search bar, sorting by activity or alphabet, a green dot for online users, last-seen visibility per privacy settings, Meta AI link, and an invite-a-friend option. It is currently under development and not widely available.
