The NHTS 2025-26 by MoSPI finds West Bengal has the longest average urban commute to a fixed workplace at 36 minutes, followed by Delhi (35) and Maharashtra (34). The national urban average is 27 minutes. Two-wheelers are the most common workplace mode, accounting for 42.6% nationally and 52.3% in urban areas.
