A viral video claiming Kenya launched a vessel on Lake Victoria is false. AFP traced the footage to a shipyard in Mangaluru, India, filmed in April and showing the Hansa Anholt's launch by Chowgule Shipyards. The ship is linked to German owner Leonhardt & Blumberg and NewTide charters. Kenyan authorities and media reported no such Lake Victoria commissioning.
