US university to pay US$2.1mil settlement over claims it didn't disclose China ties

Ohio State University agreed to pay a US$2.1 million settlement over allegations it failed to disclose employees' ties to Chinese institutions when applying for NASA and NSF federal grants between 2012 and 2023. The DOJ said OSU noted affiliations and a Thousand Talents participant but delayed notifying agencies until 2023. The settlement resolves allegations only and does not determine liability.
