UP’s Special Rostering Cycle To Keep Prayagraj’s Sangam Pollution-Free During Mahakumbh

The sacred waters of the Sangam Nose, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday offered prayers and performed rituals before he launched development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore for the 2025 Mahakumbh and Prayagraj, are set to become cleaner as the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a special ‘rostering cycle’ to regulate industrial effluent discharge into the Ganges.

The move aims to maintain the pristine purity of the Ganges and the Sangam, allowing devotees to take holy dips during the Mahakumbh in pollution-free water.
