The Universal Friendship Organization (UFO) warned that Ghana's Global Peace Index ranking has slipped sharply from 38th in 2021 to 76th in 2026, attributing the decline to economic, social and political tensions, including high living costs, youth unemployment, disputes and polarisation. Ahead of a major political season, UFO urged government, parties and leaders to prioritise unity, invest in youth employment and pursue issue-based, peaceful engagement.
