UN General Assembly adopted a Vietnam-led resolution designating 2027, 2036 the International Decade of Culture for Sustainable Development. Co-sponsored by 103 countries and supported by a core group including Cyprus, Italy, Laos, Qatar and Saint Kitts and Nevis, it names UNESCO as focal point to integrate culture into development policies, mobilize resources, promote partnerships, and enhance culture's role in poverty reduction, social cohesion and sustainable growth.
