SpaceX's Starlink has built 20 gateway sites across India and implemented India-specific security controls, keeping user data within the country as it prepares commercial operations. VP Lauren Dreyer said Starlink invested heavily in local infrastructure, engaged regulators and operators for years, and aligned operations with Indian regulatory and security requirements while pursuing wider SpaceX technology objectives.
