State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Rama Mohan Rao Amara as managing director (MD) for a three-year term, starting from December 18, 2024. Prior to this, he was the deputy managing director and chief risk officer of SBI. Additionally, Kshitij Mohan, the deputy managing director (SARG), has been given the additional responsibility of deputy MD and group chief risk officer, effective from the same date. SBI is a major public sector bank in India, with the government holding a 57.51% stake as of September 2024.
