Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that some Maharashtra FDA officials are demanding money from businesses in Mumbai, Thane and other districts during the ongoing food-safety crackdown. In a letter to FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, Raut cited alleged licence-related payments and called for an independent probe, verification of complaints and disciplinary action against officials who bypass legal procedures.
