At the All India Oriental Studies Conference in Haridwar, saints, Shankaracharyas and scholars launched the 'Sanatan Shastra Shuddhi Abhiyan' to examine alleged interpolations in Sanatan scriptures. A Sanatan Shastra Shuddhi Samiti plus Vidvat Parishad and Sant-Sannyasi Parishad were formed; leaders appointed include Swami Paramatmanand, Prof. Srinivas Varkhedi, with Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna endorsing the initiative.
