Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration seized 430 kg of counterfeit Amul cheese and prohibited flavoured tobacco worth a combined ₹30.89 lakh during separate actions in Pune on September 30. Officials alleged that counterfeit labels and altered expiry dates were being used on cheese, while flavoured tobacco was allegedly prepared using additives including menthol and glycerol. An FIR was subsequently registered.
