The Maharashtra FDA has launched a new online "Festival Implementation Portal" to monitor food safety during festivals across the state. During Ganeshotsav, 3,198 mandals used the portal to submit details of bhandaras and mahaprasad arrangements. The FDA inspected 3,068 food establishments between September 1 and 23, while the portal will allow festival organisers to track inspections and submit details of upcoming food arrangements online.
