The Ministry of Civil Aviation has begun Digi Yatra trials for international passengers at seven Indian airports, allowing eligible Indian e-passport holders to use facial-recognition services on select Air India and IndiGo overseas flights. Running November to December 2026, the pilot requires e-passport-based credentials via the Digi Yatra app and will inform a planned wider rollout in 2027.
