Perturbation-based balance training (PBT) is a rehabilitative exercise that intentionally disturbs balance to improve reactive responses and reduce falls, especially in older adults. Research links PBT to faster recovery after slips or trips, a lower fall rate, and improved quality of life. Sessions should be supervised, progressive, and avoided by people with certain health risks without GP approval.
