Nvidia says DLSS 5 will eventually support RTX 40-series Ada Lovelace GPUs but has not given a release date, as optimization currently targets the RTX 50-series. The compute-intensive 3D-guided neural rendering improves lighting, subsurface scattering, contact shadows, and facial detail while incurring a substantial framerate cost. Ada’s fourth-generation Tensor Cores support the FP8 format, unlike RTX 30-series hardware.
