Yuzvendra Chahal explained his omission from India's 2023 ODI World Cup squad, saying captain Rohit Sharma told him the team wanted batters up to number eight and an extra fast bowler. After hearing this, Chahal stopped worrying about selection. He later excelled in IPL 2024, earned T20 World Cup recalls, and retired from first-class cricket in 2026.
